Mountain and Jingles are packing up their stuff and getting ready to go to Sarasota, Florida next week. They are hitting the road and starting 2008 on the right note by attending the 10th Annual Thunder By The Bay (January 4th - 6th). They are so excited to meet up with their old friends and make some new ones. They are going to have a booth, so look for this banner, which should help a little bit to find them among thousands of bikers. It should be a great time!

Mountain and Jingles just want to wish all of their friends a holiday season of peace and merriment.
PS: You can find great gifts for your loved ones in our website!!!
You start with a clean or new garbage can and then you fill it with 20 gallons of water, throw in 15 cups of sugar with 15 Grape Kool-Aid packs and stir it with a broom handle. You add 8-10 bottles of Everclear Grain Alcohol depending on taste then add 40 hits of crushed mescaline and a couple bags of ice. In our valley we call this Purple Jesus and every town has their own version of a Purple Jesus. I love hearing what other “legend drinks” existed from back in the day.
This was the drink served at the very first event I went to with Mountain on the back of his ’72 Sportster. I learned that a bitchbar was a good thing (used by the girl to lean back against on long rides or well this bitch did) and had nothing to do with liquor. We would be up for days and what fun we had. We played Volleyball so high and somehow played extremely well or at least so I recall! While I fondly remember those days and nights looking back, I sure don’t have the stamina for that kind of partying now. Just thinking about it makes me tired; I prefer the peace of the garden instead of trippin’ in the sun.
It was way back in 1973, but it’s a day that I’ll never forget.
How do you hold a wedding when all your friends are Bikers or Hippies and your parents are really straight? Answer: at a park by the river with a huge pavilion, outdoor bathrooms, a playground and a volleyball area.
Under the pavilion we had a small private ceremony for family with a small luncheon reception for all the straight folks. We had advised them that after 1pm the reception would take a change in direction with volleyball and possible marijuana use and vulgar language.
Around 1245pm you could hear the low rumble of straight pipes on about 20 Harleys’ in the distance. As I think back I smile remembering the look on my mother-in-law’s face. My mother kissed us goodbye and said be careful then made a beeline for her car. We turned up the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, changed into shorts and partied until late in the night. Joints and Jack Daniels on the volleyball court while spectators ate vodka or rum stuffed watermelons shining it on.
My only regret is that I did not hire a professional photographer, while I have some really great photos it’s not the same.
Anyone else have a non- traditional wedding story to share?
Jingles

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the Stoned Seniors comic strip. Mountain and Jingles come to life in what we are planning to be a weekly feature on this blog. Enjoy!

Mountain and Jingles began as an idea… the idea that as the “Hippie” generation gets older, that there’s probably a lot of Stoned Seniors out there in the real world But for a very long time, it was just an idea on it’s creator’s mind. An accidental meeting allowed the minds behind Mountain and Jingles connect with the artist that has helped bring them to life. It has been a long process, but we are very proud of the final result.
Here you can see some steps during the evolution from the original doodle to the final logo. Mountain and Jingles had to reflect a whole generation…lots to live up to!

Thanks for hanging out with your favorite hippies, Mountain and Jingles. Through this blog, we are going to be telling some of their stories and hopefully develop a comic strip depicting Mountain and Jingles life. This is a place, where you can feel free to share your stories, adventures and pictures. It’s also the place to let us know how we are doing. What’s your favorite T-Shirt design? What you think about the characters… we would love to hear your suggestions.
